Anish Kapoor CBE RA (b. 1954, India) is one of the most influential sculptors of his generation, he is perhaps most famous for public sculptures that are both adventures in form and feats of engineering. Kapoor represented Britain at the Venice Biennale in 1990, and was awarded the Premio Duemila Prize. In 1991, he received the Turner Prize and in 2002 received the Unilever Commission for the Turbine Hall at Tate Modern. His notable public sculptures include Cloud Gate in Chicago’s Millennium Park Gardens and ArcelorMittal Orbit, commissioned as an artwork for London’s Olympic Park.
